The Rufsnake™ is yet another whip released this year at Noreast Whips. The Rufsnake™ is a new model snakewhip constructed with a 14 gauge electrical cord core (same as used in the Tufwhips™), half plaited belly in 12 strands, layered, then finished with a 16 plait overlay. The electrical cord core is a bit stiffer than the core of the Standard Snakewhips, which contain a bb-loaded core. The whips I build using electrical cord do seem a bit stiffer than those with shotloaded cores from the start. Yet they do break in quickly & become more fluid with use.
The Rufsnake™ is a solid whip, cracks easily & will be available in 4, 5 & 6 ft lengths. If you’re thinking of trying your hand at a snakewhip, maybe to see how they compare to bullwhips, then a Rufsnake™ may be a good choice for you. The whip pictured at top will be available on the Off The Shelf page of the website shortly. It’s overlaid in black, with rust highlights in the knots. If you have any questions about this new snakewhip, feel free to email me with your questions.
